Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA is a community-led 501(c)(3) organization focused first on strengthening the Western Bahr El Ghazal community in the diaspora. This includes addressing social, educational, economic, and family-related challenges, empowering youth, and promoting unity and cultural identity. From that foundation, the organization mobilizes collective action that can also extend humanitarian and development support to Western Bahr El Ghazal, South Sudan, through partnership and coordinated efforts.

Diaspora Community Development and Problem-Solving
Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA supports community-led efforts to address immediate diaspora challenges. These challenges may include social pressures, educational gaps, cultural disconnection, economic vulnerability, and family instability. This focus helps strengthen resilience and stability across the diaspora community.
Family Strengthening, Counseling, and Social Support

Youth in the diaspora may sometimes be influenced by peer groups or environments that families are not fully aware of, which can expose them to negative influences and serious risks. Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA prioritizes youth-focused initiatives that protect, guide, and empower young people through prevention, mentorship, education, cultural values, and positive engagement.
These efforts aim to help youth avoid harmful influences, stay connected to their families and community, and choose constructive paths that support personal growth, discipline, and responsibility within the diaspora community.
Cultural Preservation, Identity, and Inter-Generational Unity
Maintaining cultural identity and strengthening connections across generations helps keep the community united. Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA supports cultural preservation and activities that bring together youth, families, and elders to strengthen inter-generational unity and shared community values.
Community Advocacy and Awareness in Host Countries
Advocacy is an important part of community representation. Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA supports community advocacy and awareness efforts in host countries, helping ensure community concerns, needs, and priorities are recognized and addressed in appropriate spaces.
Humanitarian Support and Emergency Relief
Alongside diaspora programs, Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA also supports humanitarian assistance and emergency relief connected to Western Bahr El Ghazal, South Sudan. This work is approached through coordinated community action and, where appropriate, partnerships.
Medical Aid and Institutional Support to South Sudan
As part of its humanitarian focus, Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA includes medical aid and institutional support to South Sudan among its areas of work. This may include supporting medical supply initiatives and related forms of assistance through coordinated planning and partnerships.
Diaspora Engagement, Partnerships, and Capacity Building
Strong partnerships help expand community opportunities and access to resources. Western Bahr El Ghazal Community USA welcomes collaboration with nonprofits, educational institutions, faith-based groups, community organizations, private sector partners, and individual supporters who share similar priorities.

Community Membership & Family Support Program
Community membership helps ensure that no member stands alone during hardship. Through the Community Family Support Fund, members contribute to a shared support system designed to assist registered and active members when they face difficult circumstances.
Membership Contributions
- $180 annually to the Community Family Support Fund
- $50 one-time membership application fee
How the Family Support Fund is Used
Funds collected are used to:
- Provide financial grants to members facing hardship
- Support members in the event of a death in the immediate family, including:
- Father
- Mother
- Children
- Brothers or sisters
- Offer small, short-term loans in special circumstances (repayment required with minimal interest to help sustain the fund)
Note: Bereavement support is provided only for immediate family members listed above and only to active members who contribute to the fund.
